You might wonder why we ask for families, coaches, fans, alumni, and community members to join Royals Athletic Boosters (RAB) as members. We are a small, community-based, volunteer-led non-profit organization.
In order to maximize direct support for teams participating in fundraising activities, RAB does not keep any portion of those proceeds raised by the team efforts even if we help with logistics, promotion, incentives, and/or prizes for those fundraisers. We host team-based sub-accounts that coaches and teams can utilize to best meet their team's needs year-round. Most often, those funds are used for: summer training experiences, team meals for away games or awards nights, team bonding activities, needed equipment not covered by the school district budget, or team gear. This means parents, players, and coaches can focus on their team activities and not on covering all the financial burden for things a team needs to enhance connectedness, comraderie, team spirit, sports skills, leadership, competitiveness, and life skills.
RAB uses membership fees, sponsorship fees, grant funds secured, and donations not directed to a specific team or project to support: scholarships for graduating seniors, "Cheer for Your Peers" playoff tickets for MVRHS students, senior recognition signs, community partnerships, online media coverage of our teams (for away game or playoff highlights or livestream opportunities that pop up), requests from IRS athletic teams, and our modest administrative costs.
We keep our membership fees reasonable, plus you are invited to indicate which team you would like to support each year as part of your membership fee. We're trying to add some additional RAB swag options as well. Let us know if you have any questions!
